Since 1954 the Sunalta Community Association has been building a stronger, more connected community by offering diverse and responsive programs and services. We consider ourselves a vehicle for social change with a focus on inclusion, innovation, sustainability and advocacy. We operate a 100-year-old community hall and revenue generated through rentals is invested back into the community.

  • Hosting special events like the Sunalta Pancake Breakfast, Neighbour Day, Movie in the Park, Kids Winter Festival, and so much more!

  • Offering free programs to the community, like the Toy Lending Library, Game Night, Yoga, Kirtan Lounge, Martial Arts classes, and Smudge and Pipe Ceremonies. Visit our Facebook page for upcoming events - we look forward to seeing you there!

  • Working with the City to address traffic and development issues

  • Community beautification projects like the colourful picnic tables and park benches you see around the 'hood!

  • Community Gardens! Not just 1 but TWO!

  • Free Lending Libraries

  • Workshops that build resident skills and capacity

  • On-site advocates that can help connect you with supports and services

  • Supporting our local businesses

  • Providing employment opportunities for residents. We hire local!

  • Growing our social procurement policy to make sure we use our buying power for good!

  • Making friends and building community! Stop by the Hall and say hello!

We operate a 100-year-old heritage hall that is used for special events, programs, office space, and offers a welcoming place to hang out. We run the Hall as a social enterprise, where the money we earn from rentals is re-invested back into the community. Pretty great, right?
