Community Garden - Individual Plots
Sunalta's community garden is located behind the Community Hall at 1627 10th Avenue SW. We have 20+ plots available for you to grow your own food, herbs, flowers, and plants.

Communal Garden Beds - Collective Gardening Program
Our communal garden beds are an opportunity for community members to gather and connect and learn about growing food together in community!
This program occurs every 2nd Tuesday from 6-7PM and is led by our amazing friend and gardening expert, Janet Melrose - Calgary's Cottage Gardener. Janet Melrose leads us in planting, watering, and harvesting our gardens. This program is FREE to join and open to all.

Looking for an opportunity to volunteer? We are looking for people to join our Watering Squad! These folks will sign up for shifts available every two days to come and water the communal beds! If you're interested, contact grace@sunalta.net!

Sunalta Wild Flower Garden
Did you know Sunalta is home to its very own Wildflower Garden? Located on the corner of 14th Ave and 16th ST, this lot was donated to Sunalta by a previous resident.
Since then, our passionate and dedicated volunteers have worked tirelessly for decades to cultivate a gorgeous and flourishing wildflower garden in the heart of Sunalta. Many events take place here throughout the year. We have a shared compost, a little library and many plants that need love and care. This is good place to meet some new neighbours while digging in the dirt. It is also a great place to meet a friend for coffee.
We are ALWAYS in need of people interested in volunteering their time to help keep our Wildflower Garden beautiful. Join our garden maintenance group, which gathers every week!

Last year we were so lucky to partner with ReGenerate Design who led us in developing and implementing a Garden Stewardship program. Learn more HERE.

Sunalta Gardening Workshop Series - 6 sessions March- November
Our amazing friend Janet Melrose, Calgary's Cottage Gardener has guided us along the path of community garden and growing food in small spaces.
