ABOUT

Located near downtown in Calgary’s South West quadrant, the name Sunalta likely means “Sunny Alberta.”

The area was established as a residential community in 1909. In the 1950s, Sunalta was re-zoned to contain a number of apartment-style walkups. Read about the history of our community in our HISTORICAL ARTICLES collection.
